If you work as a bricklayer on private jobs or new development sites, this NVQ level 2 is your super fast route to the qualification behind your blue CSCS card

We know that not all bricklayers are involved in the same activities and there are different ways in which you can be assessed to prove your competency. This is why you will be allowed to choose a personalised route to complete and meet the criteria for the NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Trowel Occupations.

Together with your assessor you will decide on the easiest way of proving your work competency in:

  • cavity wall structures
  • blockwork structures
  • solid wall structures
  • door and window openings
  • joint finishes
  • working with non-specialist concrete
  • masonry cladding
  • plastering or rendering finishes
  • slate and tile roofing
  • installing drainage
  • repairing and maintaining of masonry structures

We will also check via simple tasks your knowledge and competency in working at heights, calculating quantities and wastage, using powered and hand tools and equipment. You will be able to select optional units recognising skills including:
