IF YOU WORK AS A CARPENTER OR JOINER, THIS NVQ LEVEL 2 IS YOUR SUPER FAST ROUTE TO GETTING YOUR BLUE CSCS CARD IN WOOD OCCUPATIONS

As a carpenter or a first fixing installer / second fixing installer, you could be involved in shopfitting site work or shopfitting bench work, erect structural carcassing components or do non-structural carpentry work.

To be considered a competent carpenter, you require minimum supervision in carrying out your day-to-day jobs on site.

We know that not all carpenters are involved in the same activities and there are different ways in which you can be assessed to prove your competency. This is why you will be allowed to choose a personalised route to complete and meet the criteria for the NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Wood Occupations.

We will also check via simple tasks your knowledge and competency in working at heights, calculating quantities and wastage, using powered and hand tools and equipment.

  • setting up and using transportable cutting and shaping machines
  • installing first fixing components
  • installing second fixing components
  • erecting structural carcassing components
  • maintaining non-structural carpentry work
