What do you think we mean by ‘Substances Hazardous to Health’?
In legal terms, these are substances that are classified as “very toxic, toxic, harmful, corrosive or Irritant” under the Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulation (CLP). This was a new regulation that came into force in January 2009 dovetailing with a set of regulations called REACH. REACH is a European Union regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, which came into force on 1st June 2007. One of the main aims of REACH is to provide a high level of protection for human health and the environment from the use of chemicals.

This COSHH online course provides training for all levels of employees who work, or may come into contact with, hazardous substances in the workplace. This includes, but is not limited to, people who work in construction such as:

On successful completion of the course you will be able to download a quality assured certificate .
This can be used to provide evidence for compliance and audit. The certificate displays the IIRSM logo.
The COSHH certificate does not have an expiry date. The recommended renewal period for this training is 1 year. This is printed on your certificate.
COSHH online course overview
The online COSHH course covers what you need to know about the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH). It’s aimed at anyone who is exposed to Substances Hazardous to Health at work, as well as line managers with responsibility for such people. The Online course has 10 modules and takes on average 2.5 hours to complete.
Assessment
The online assessment is taken on completion of each training module, through several multiple-choice questions. You are required to get 70% on the tests in modules 1-10 to pass the course and gain your certificate.
You can review all the answers before final submission and are given 3 attempts to achieve the required result.
