The NVQ for roofers. Coverings, detailing and weathertightness in your roofing pathway, assessed from your real roofs, remote or on site. Your route to the Blue CSCS card.

If you install roof coverings - tiling, slating or membranes depending on your pathway - fix battens and underlay, and form the detailing that keeps buildings dry (valleys, hips, abutments, flashings), this qualification turns your roofing into a nationally recognised NVQ.

GQA Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Roofing Occupations, in the pathway matching your work - tiling, slating or membranes. Typical completion is 4-8 weeks, working with your assessor and work-based recorder for evidence gathering, observations and professional discussions.

Site visits are part of the NVQ process. They are carried out remotely or on site, and we decide which with you at your NVQ induction online meeting, around your site and your schedule.

Your evidence comes from the work you're already doing. Don't collect anything yet - your assessor plans it with you at onboarding. It will look like this:

  • Roof coverings in your pathway - tiling, slating or membranes
  • Battens, underlay and setting out
  • Detailing - valleys, hips, abutments and flashings
  • Checking completed roofs for weathertightness
  • Videos of 3-5 minutes of you carrying out work tasks in which you explain what you are working on and how you are doing it - a workmate can film on a phone
  • Job sheets and site documents with your name, plus a witness statement from your supervisor (we provide the template)

Register online and your welcome email arrives in minutes with your enrolment form and the link to book your onboarding Zoom call. On the call we talk through your job role, agree the easiest way for you to provide evidence, and plan your site observation - remote or on site, to suit your location.
