If you work as a wall & floor tiler, this NVQ level 2 is your super fast route to the qualification behind your blue CSCS card

As a wall and floor tiler, you could be involved in wall and floor tilling in both domestic (e.g. kitchens, bathrooms) or in commercial sites such as shops, hotels, offices, restaurants, hospitals, airports, or cafes.

We know that not all wall and floor tilers are involved in the same activities and there are different ways in which you can be assessed to prove your competency. This is why you will be allowed to choose a personalised route to complete and meet the criteria for the NVQ Level 2 Diploma.

Together with your assessor, you will decide on the easiest way of proving your work competence in preparing backgrounds to receive wall and or floor tiling, tiling wall and floor surfaces.

You will be able to select optional units recognising skills in:

  • wall and floor tiling
  • laying under tile electrical heating systems and tiling surfaces
  • slinging and hand signaling the movement of suspended loads

We will also check through simple tasks your knowledge and competence in working at heights, calculating quantities and wastage, using powered and hand tools and equipment.
